Defne Kayaş designs interiors where light, proportion, and natural materials meet in quiet balance — simple, honest, and made to grow more beautiful with time.
Studio
Interiors are not only seen; they are felt, lived in, and remembered.
For Defne Kayaş, design begins with the life that unfolds inside a space. Each project takes shape by listening — to how light travels through the day, how a morning begins, how a room brings people together. The result is calm, considered interiors that feel like they belong to those who live in them, and grow more beautiful with time.

People are at the centre of our work. Design decisions are grounded in comfort, proportion, and the honesty of materials.
Design begins with the human body and its daily movements. Proportion, height, and distance make comfort quietly possible.
Each material is used honestly, with its own character. Tactile, natural surfaces that grow more beautiful over time are preferred.
The balance between full and empty, light and shadow, movement and pause determines the calm of a space.
Permanence is sought over fashion. A well-made space keeps its freshness and meaning as the years pass.
A space is remembered by how it makes you feel. Light, scent, sound, and texture together build its emotion.
